A way of life: Self-Reliance
A wholesome society is created and based out of comprehensive, all-inclusive growth: all the elements including those tracing anti-social components have to be integrated with the mainstream.
This understanding reflects in the new scheme called ‘Swavalamban’ meaning self-reliance’, an ambitious platform of self-employment and training launched by Chief Minister of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal; which is set to help former cadres of various militant groups of the state earn their livelihood by a variety of enabling means and not mere sops. The former militant cadres will be given training on how to do business and other such matters, which would help them secure a clear life path and work with dignity.
The scheme is implemented in association with State Institute f Panchayat and Rural Development with State Bank of India, UBI and Assam Gramin Vikas Bank offering subsidized loans in case of entrepreneurial endeavours.
Chief Minister Sonowal urged beneficiaries of Swavalamban scheme to become job creators by imbibing the spirit of entrepreneurship and realise the dream of a strong & developed Assam, in an effort which unites the whole of Assam.
