Infrastructual development - while they are in process may seem quite problematic and not the epitome of comfort, but once they are readied and done are the facilitators of modernity and ease of communication and trade and business.

In a recent development, the construction for the proposed bridge between Guwahati and North Guwahati has been declared to start after the reception of loan from the New Development Bank, earlier known as BRICS Development Bank.

The leadership of Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal has seen the foundation and establishment of crucial infrastructual facilities and important bridges; this new addition is going to be one of those.

According to reports, the bank will finalise the loan of Rs. 2,600 crore on July 8, following which the PWD department will start construction of the bridge in September.

Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the proposed 1.6 kilometre bridge over the Brahmaputra will reduce travel time to North Guwahati via Saraighat bridge to a great extent.
