Poshan Maah: Mothers of this Earth

There are seldom comprehensive plans and programmes that seek to look after the health as well as the nutritious growth and well being of the pregnant mother; but Chief Minister of Assam, Sarbanada Sonowal recognises this very aim and launched very recently the 'Poshan Maah'. This aims to achieve improvement in the nutritional status of children, adolescent girls, pregnant women, and lactating mothers.
The Chief Minister of BJP Government in Assam at the valedictory function of Poshan Maah and the launch of Beti Bachao on Saturday also said the government has put special focus on the rapid development of the Barak valley and he urged everyone to work towards realizing the true potentialities & possibilities of the valley.
The CM also stressed on imparting quality education and skill development training to youths.
Poshan Abhiyan, a mission launched by the Government of India on March 8, 2018, to tackle malnutrition among children between the age group of 0-6 years. The target is to reduce stunting among children from 38.4 per cent to 25 per cent by 2022.
The programme is also expected to ensure service delivery and interventions by use of technology, behavioural change through convergence and lays-down specific targets to be achieved across different monitoring parameters.
